3:33⅓ - Black Market Brass - Rat Trap

I don’t love every aspect of getting older. But I do love being less arrogant and having the emotional maturity to love other Minnesota music. In my opinion if you are doing your 20s right, there should be a little of “it’s us against the world” vibe where you just stand up for your band and the bands you are tight with. You listen to the other bands, but you kind of pick em apart. Maybe you break em down and decide they suck, maybe you break em down and decide they rule. But either way, you are running a fine tooth comb through em just to be competitive. I can now just hear awesome jams from Minnesota artists and respect it, be humbled by it, tap my feet along, keep the good energy flowing. And for me, Black Market Brass is always delivering the goods. It’s a miracle how well they play, they are a tight unit making it happen in a style of music (Afro-beat) that is very hard to pull off. But the writing is good. The writing on this single is really good. So dig in. I spun it today on Jazz88.
