3:33⅓ - John Coltrane - Live at Birdland

I’ve got a barber that I love. In fact I got two. My broadcast friend Sani Brown is a barber but for a minute she didn’t have a chair so my wife found me a dude named Mike who annexed his home from the rest of Shakopee and he cuts hair over at Good Neighbor in St. Paul. We figured out we had a lot of similar experiences in life. I reckon he’s about 10 years older than me but we ran in comparable circles, he more punk rock, me more hip-hop. But both very music, very DIY, very University of Minnesota. Anyway, I’m thick as thieves with Mike now. His daughter volunteers with me at Jazz88 and I think she’s a total rock star when it comes to radio stuff and in general editorial and musical work. And I like the haircuts from Mike a lot, plus he gave me a Coltrane record for my birthday and he says he’ll teach me to play cribbage one day. Love it. Love Coltrane. Played it today on Jazz88.
